While the weather was not
the best of conditions for racing on any scale this past weekend. 50
plus racers from all over the US and Peurto Rico still pulled into the
Rockingham Dragway this past weekend. To claim the top prize in the 1st
Annual IMDRA Spring Nationals @ The Rock.
With an adjusted altitude
of 618 ft, the nitro powered R/C drag cars claimed many
of the top spots in the end but the electric cars made their presence
known. Kevin Weaver came from Texas laying down a 1.46 pass @ 104mph in
132ft with his Electric powered Extreme rail in practice. Jim Schauer
from California claimed TQ in the Extreme class with several sub 1.5 sec
runs with his Lipo powered brushless Electric rail. But on Friday during
practice Joe Gonzalez opend up with a 1.50 pass with his 50% nitro
powered Extreme rail on his first pass.
