ROCKINGHAM, N.C.
– Rock Roberson of Henderson, Eric Aman of
Mt. Olive and Corey Leazer of Mooresville
won the featured individual championships
and Maryland International Raceway claimed
the team title in Sunday's IHRA Summit ET
Finals at Rockingham Dragway.
Roberson used a .010 reaction time to turn
back Eric Kirby of Huntington, Md., to win
the Top Eliminator title. Aman, who won
the Rockingham Dragway track championship,
got a free ride to the Modified
championship when Joe Thompson of
Mooresville was guilty of a foul start.
Leazer beat Carey Curling of Chesapeake,
Va., for the Jr. Dragster title.
Other winners included Jerry Tomlinson of
Connelly Springs, George Page of Roanoke,
Va., Steve Alford of Angier, Jeff Parish
of Clayton and C.J. Tapp of Greer, S.C.
More than 800 racers representing IHRA
tracks in the Carolinas and Virginia
participated in the four-day event.
