BUSH, EDDINGER CLAIM ‘WORLD’S  FASTEST’ TITLES AT ROCKINGHAM
ROCKINGHAM – Nikki Bush of Westland, Mich., and Dimey Eddinger of Winston-Salem won the World’s Fastest Street Bike competition Sunday during the inaugural Carolina Family Bikers’ Reunion at Rockingham Dragway.
Bush, riding a 2005 Suzuki Hayabusa, set top speed of the event at 179.86 miles per hour to claim the World’s Fastest Woman title. In claiming the World’s Fastest Man designation, Eddinger was clocked at 177.02 mph  on the DME Racing 2005 turbo Hayabusa.
 
In the Street Bike ET Shootout, Boo Brown of Potomac Falls, Va., used a perfect .000 reaction time to beat Shayne Proctor of Indian Head, Md., for Saturday’s championship.  Brown, racing a 2001 Suzuki, ran 9.430 seconds on a 9.40 dial-in, at 130.17 mph, but it was his reaction time that made the difference, forcing Proctor into a breakout foul (9.540 on a 9.55 dial-in),  142.73, running under his targeted time on a 2003 Kawasaki ZX6, giving the win  to Proctor.
 
In Sunday’s race, Proctor gained a measure of revenge by driving his 2003 Kawasaki ZX6 past Edward Valentine of Winston-Salem in the final round. Procter posted a perfect 9.600 time on a 9.600 dial-in. Valentine ran a respectable 9.133 on a 9.100 dial-in to lose.
 
In addition to the on-track action, more than 50 bikes participated in the bike show judging. The event also included live music, a wheelie contests and games for children.
