Aman and Hannah
Blevins sped to
victory Sunday
in the sixth
round of the
Hoosier Racing
Tires Carolina
Coalition Series
at Steve
Earwood’s
Rockingham
Dragway.
Womack and Cody
Whitley were the
last two
standing after
eight rounds of
racing in Top
Eliminator title
and Womack got
the nod in the
final when he
forced Whitley
into a breakout
foul.
Nevertheless,
his biggest win
may have come a
round earlier
when he took out
former Coalition
champion Tommy
Plott who, in
the sixth round,
was nearly
perfect –
putting together
a .004 package
against
Salisbury’s
Dennis Rinehardt
that included a
dead on .000
reaction time.
In the
semifinal,
though, it was
Womack who got
the starting
line advantage
and made it
stand up.
Aman, a former
Rockingham track
champion, got a
free ride to the
Footbrake title
when final round
opponent Ernie
Humes was guilty
of a foul start.
The issue may
have been moot,
though, as Aman
threw up a .018
package in the
money round.
Blevins was the
last driver
standing after
six rounds of
Junior Dragster
racing. The
Jefferson
resident beat
Jessica Winkler
of China Grove,
her brother,
Dillon Winkler,
Whiteville’s
aptly-named
Rayce Blackmon
and Clayton’s
Tucker Creech in
the last four
rounds.
