Dragway.
In fact, Teasley
didn’t even advance
out of the first
round of Real Street
in the 13th annual
Honda-Suzuki of
Sanford Spring Open.
The reigning MIRock
champion was guilty
of a rare foul start
against Richard
Gadson of Hammonton,
N.J., that cleared
the way for Johnny
“Nitro” Dobrin of
Sarasota, Fla.,
to win for the
third time in
the series but
for the first
time at The
Rock.
Dobrin rode his
national
record-holding turbo
Suzuki past Suzuki
of Ashon Dickerson
of Newark, N.J., in
the final.
Meanwhile, Teasley
was able to come
back from that first
round stumble to win
in Orient
|

Express Pro
Street and in
the FBR Shop 5.60
class.

The talented Teasley,
most prolific winner
in the history of
the MIRock Series,
had won nine of 10
previous Real Street
races at Rockingham.
Other winners
included reigning
series champ Ronnie
Procopio Jr. of Wake
Forest in the Mickey
Thompson Pro Mod
class, Boo Brown of
Potomac Falls, Va.,
in Trac King/APE Top
Sportsman category
and Brandon Teasley
of Ashville, Ohio,
in the House of
Speed Crazy 8s
division.
In addition to
Teasley, Mike Schulz
of Manassas Park,
Va., also was a
double-up winner,
claiming the Brock’s
Street ET titles on
both Saturday and
Sunday. The Nitrous
Express Pro ET
winners were Jerry
Turner of Bluff
City, Tenn., on
Saturday and Michael
Herman of
Fredericksburg, Va.,
on Sunday. Turner
also won the Nitrous
Express $500 bonus
for winning the most
rounds in Pro E.T.
